New Hope United Methodist Church

We believe that Outreach is an essential part of our faith and, therefore, among one of the most important activities at New Hope UMC. John Wesley believed that Christians could not have authentic personal holiness without social holiness. He said, "I look upon all the world as my parish" and "do all the good you can, in all the ways you can, to all the souls you can, in every place you can, at all the times you can, with all the zeal you can, as long as ever you can."

John Wesley not only preached about works of mercy, he "practiced" what he preached. For example, he lived modestly and gave all he could to people who were poor; visited people in prison and provided spiritual guidance, food and clothing to them; spoke out against slavery and forbade it in Methodism; founded schools; published books, pamphlets and magazines for the education and spiritual edification of people; taught and wrote about good health and even dispensed medicines from his chapels.

He will not forget your work and the love you have shown Him as you have helped His people and continue to help them. Hebrews 6:10.

Do You Know Someone The Ministry Can Visit?

The Visitation Ministry of New Hope United Methodist Church go where they are needed. The Ministry visits shut-ins, hospitals, and nursing homes.

We would like to support you if you have a loved one who is in the hospital. Please contact the Pastor with the following information:
  • Your name and phone number;
  • The name of the patient;
  • Name of the hospital;
  • Room number;
  • Date of admission;
  • Affiliation of the patient (member or non-member);
  • Patient's relations to NHUMC (family members/friends who attend NHUMC); and
  • A brief synopsis of the patient's situation.
If you know someone who is ill, shut-in, or in a nursing home, contact the Pastor and give him the following information:
  • Your name and phone number;
  • The name, address, and telephone number of the person who is ill, shut-in or in a nursing home;
  • Affiliation of the person (member or non-member);
  • Person's relation to NHUMC (family members/friends who attend NHUMC); and
  • A brief synopsis of the person's situation.
You can "go" to church, or you can "be" the church. Outreach Ministries is a great way to "be " the church and experience God’s presence.

Our mission is to make disciples of Jesus Christ who will be in service to the needs of people in the
community of New Hope and beyond.
