Church Council

(Discipline ¶252.1)The Church (Administrative) Council provides for planning and implementing a program of nurture, outreach, witness, and resources in the local church.

Church Treasurer – 
Responsible for accounting, reporting, oversight and management of pledges and other contributions to the Church. Read More  >>>

Members At Large
Elected Members At Large are chosen, for a three year term, to serve as representatives of the congregation. Their vote and voice is recognized as how the congregation speaks on issues and decisions of ministry.

Membership Secretary – 
The Membership Secretary, under the direction of the pastor, keeps accurate membership records so that the congregation knows its current reality and can build a plan for growth in professions of faith, baptisms, members, and discipleship. Read More  >>>

Nurture Ministries

(Discipline ¶252.2 (a)) Nurturing Ministries shall give attention to education, worship, Christian formation, membership care, small groups, and stewardship, also to the needs of individuals and families of all ages. Nurture Ministries include:

Adult Ministries – , Coordinator

Outreach Ministries

(Discipline ¶252.2 (a)) Outreach Ministries shall give attention to ministries of compassion, justice, global ministries, higher education, campus ministry, health and welfare, Christian unity and interreligious concerns, religion and race, and the status and role of women. Outreach Ministries and their accompanying responsibilities include:

Food Pantry Ministry – , Coordinator
Plans, organizes, and monitors food acquisitions, storage, and distribution to eligible people in the New Hope area. Read More  >>>

Responsible for coordinating global mission projects in New Hope UMC for the following: UMCOR School kits; Stop Hunger Now Food Packaging Event; AGAPE Christmas Boxes 2014; Liberia; Rotifunk Hospital; El Salvadoran; ZOE. Read More  >>>

Prayer Chain – , Coordinator
Responsibilities include the ability to organize the prayer chain network, provide training for new prayer chain participants, support and encourage those who serve in this ministry, processes the prayer requests and recruit new participants.

Prayer Shawl Ministry – , Coordinator
This ministry reachs out with love and care to others who are hurting or who may need a special blessing by making prayer shawls. Read More  >>>

Prayer Warrior Ministry – , Coordinator
Each Tuesday afternoon at 2pm the Prayer Warrior volunteers meet in the sanctuary to offer intercessory prayer (a prayer to God on behalf of others) for the weekly requests. This team also sets the prayer vision for New Hope UMC by encouraging personal and corporate prayer (the scheduled or unscheduled gathering of two or more Christians where those Christians approach God, communicating requests to God, expressing praise and worship of God, confessing sin, or thanking God).

The Prayer Warriors maintain strict confidentiality to those prayer concerns that are offered in private.

Witness Ministries

(Discipline ¶252.2 (c)) The Witness Ministries of the church shall give attention to developing and strengthening evangelistic efforts of sharing of personal and congregational stories of Christian experience, faith, and service; communications; Lay Speaking Ministries; and other means that give expressions of witness for Jesus Christ. Witness Ministries and their accompanying responsibilities include:

Certified Lay Speakers– 
(Discipline ¶268)– A lay speaker is a certified lay servant who is called and equipped to serve the church in pulpit supply. Lay speakers must complete a specific list of courses provided in the Lay Servant Ministries Program and has received certification as a lay speaker.

Communications – , Coordinator

Lay Servants– 
(Discipline ¶268) –A lay servant is a professing member of a local church or charge who is ready and desirous to serve the church and who is well informed on and committed to the Scriptures and the doctrine, heritage, organization, and life of The United Methodist Church. A lay servant receives specific training to develop skills in witnessing to the Christian faith through spoken communication, church and community leadership, and care-giving ministries.

Sound & Video – 
Responsible for the sound system during Sunday services, as well as the extensive PowerPoint slides and videotapes. This includes preparing slides and videos and working closely with the Worship Planning Team to enhance New Hope’s worship experience. Also supports special events such as musicals, dramas, and weddings.
