Adult Ministries

The purpose of Adult Ministries is to open doors to the Divine for adults seeking spiritual and personal development. A committed pastor and lay leadership plan for Bible studies, interest-oriented seminars, speaker's forums, and small groups that help to make you feel at home at New Hope UMC. There are traditional Sunday morning classes that meet every Sunday, classes during the week and special events centered around Advent or Lent. We look forward to having you become part of our program and welcome your ideas and input.

Adult Sunday School

At 9:00 a.m. each Sunday, classes of all types meet at the church for study, fellowship and prayer. Many gather at the holidays and at other times for social gatherings. Service projects are often done as a class.

Children's Ministries

Just as Jesus did, we welcome children to the ministries of New Hope United Methodist Church. At New Hope, children are an active, vital part of our church community. For information about becoming a volunteer contact the Pastor.

Children's Time

Children of all ages are welcome at the 10:00 a.m. worship service. The Children’s Sermon is a highlight of every worship experience as the Pastor creatively engages our imaginations and our hearts by inviting all children forward to learn with the Children’s Time teacher.

Food Pantry Ministry

Welcome to the New Hope United Methodist Church library. As you enter the sanctuary the library is located in the rear on the right.

Men's Ministries

The ministry of men in New Hope UMC is a core group of men, partnering with the pastor, to invite and initiate spiritual growth opportunities for all men of the church. The focus is not inward, concentrating only on those who attend a set meeting, but outward to all men, assisting them to engage the process of spiritual growth.

The congregation reaches out in dozens of ways to its neighbors in New Hope, the Carolinas and all over the world. We seek to be the hands and feet of God in so many ways. There is a place for all to serve.

The Music Ministry at New Hope United Methodist Church wishes to provide all ages with an opportunity for service through God's gift of music.

Operation Christmas Child (Samaritan's Purse International Relief)

Give Christmas gifts to those in need. The United Methodist Women coordinate Samaritanís Purse – Operation Christmas Child Shoeboxes. Fill shoe boxes with items to make a happy Christmas for some needy child who otherwise would not have anything for Christmas.

Prayer Shawl Ministry

The Prayer Shawl Ministry makes hand made shawls for battered women at the local shelters, cancer patients in hospitals, and for people facing tough times. The shawls are also given away for milestones and joyful times.

Prayer Warrior Ministry

The Prayer Warrior volunteers meet in the sanctuary, once a week, to offer intercessory prayer (a prayer to God on behalf of others) for the weekly requests. This team also sets the prayer vision for New Hope UMC by encouraging personal and corporate prayer (the scheduled or unscheduled gathering of two or more Christians where those Christians approach God, communicating requests to God, expressing praise and worship of God, confessing sin, or thanking God).

The Prayer Warriors maintain strict confidentiality to those prayer concerns that are offered in private.

Read The Bible In A Year

The church has launched Read The Bible In a Year, a journey in which participants read through the Bible in one year. This can be done in small groups or on your own. Take some time each day to read, pray and open your heart to God's movement through the pages of Scripture.

Women's Ministries

The Women's Ministries are a living, growing, vibrant part of our church providing opportunities for fellowship, study and service to women of all ages.
